حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى وَمُحَمَّدٌ ابْنَا عُبَيْدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَ
نْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ لَوْلَا أَنْ يُشَقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَخَّرْتُ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ وَلَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ

English Translation
Yaʿlā and Muḥammad, the two sons of ʿUbayd, narrated to us, they said: Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, from Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Zayd ibn Khālid al-Juhanī who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Were it not that it would be burdensome" — Muḥammad said: "Were it not that it would burden my ummah, I would have delayed the ʿIshāʾ prayer until the third of the night, and I would have commanded them to use the siwāk (tooth-stick) before every prayer."
