قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ النَّاسِ فِي الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ثُمَّ قَعَدْتُ مُتَنَحِّيًا فَلَمَّا تَفَرَّقَ النَّاسُ عَنْ ر
َسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ أَلَا تُبَايِعُ قَالَ قُلْتُ قَدْ بَايَعْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَيْضًا قُلْتُ عَلَامَ بَايَعْتُمْ قَالَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ

English Translation
Ḥammād ibn Masʿadah narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd, from Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ, who said: I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ along with the people at al-Ḥudaybiyyah, then I sat apart. When the people dispersed from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, he said: "O Ibn al-Akwaʿ, will you not give the pledge?" I said: I have already pledged, O Messenger of Allāh. He said: "Again." I said: Upon what did you [all] pledge? He said: "Upon death."
