English Translation

Ṣafwān ibn ʿĪsā narrated to us, he said: Yazīd — meaning Ibn Abī ʿUbayd — informed us, from Salamah, that the Prophet ﷺ ordered his caller on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ [to announce]: Whoever has eaten in the morning, let him abstain [for the rest of the day], and whoever has not eaten, let him complete his fast.
