قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ وَهُمْ يَتَنَاضَلُونَ فِي السُّوقِ فَقَالَ ارْمُوا يَا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ ك
َانَ رَامِيًا ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ لِأَحَدِ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ فَأَمْسَكُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَقَالَ ارْمُوا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ قَالَ ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلُّكُمْ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd, he said: Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ narrated to me, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out upon some people of Aslam who were competing in archery in the marketplace. He said: "Shoot, O sons of Ismāʿīl, for your father was an archer! Shoot, and I am with the tribe of so-and-so" — one of the two teams. They withheld their hands [stopped shooting]. He said: "Shoot!" They said: O Messenger of Allāh, how can we shoot when you are with the tribe of so-and-so? He said: "Shoot, and I am with all of you."
