حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَن
ْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَعْظَمُ الْغُلُولِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ذِرَاعٌ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ تَجِدُونَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ جَارَيْنِ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ فِي الدَّارِ فَيَقْتَطِعُ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ حَظِّ صَاحِبِهِ ذِرَاعًا فَإِذَا اقْتَطَعَهُ طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿAmr narrated to us: Zuhayr — meaning Ibn Muḥammad — narrated to us, from ʿAbdullāh — meaning Ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAqīl — from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār, from Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, from the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'The greatest ghulūl (treachery/misappropriation) in the sight of Allah عز وجل is a cubit of land. You find two men who are neighbors in a piece of land or in a house, and one of them takes a cubit from his companion's share. If he takes it, he will be collared with it from the seven earths until the Day of Resurrection.'
