حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُكْرُونَ الْأَرْضَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَا يُنْبِتُ عَلَى الْ
أَرْبِعَاءِ وَشَيْئًا مِنْ الزَّرْعِ يَسْتَثْنِيهِ صَاحِبُ الزَّرْعِ فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ لِرَافِعٍ كَيْفَ كِرَاؤُهَا بِالدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ فَقَالَ رَافِعٌ لَيْسَ بِهَا بَأْسٌ بِالدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ

English Translation
Yūnus narrated to us: Layth narrated to us, from Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ḥanẓalah ibn Qays, from Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj, that he said: My uncle narrated to me that they used to rent farmland during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for what grew on the water channels and for something from the crop that the landowner reserved. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited that. I said to Rāfiʿ: 'What about renting with dinars and dirhams?' Rāfiʿ said: 'There is no harm in that with dinars and dirhams.'
