حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يُكْرُونَ الْمَزَارِعَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَل
َيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَاذِيَانَاتِ وَمَا سَقَى الرَّبِيعُ وَشَيْءٍ مِنْ التِّبْنِ فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كِرَاءَ الْمَزَارِعِ بِهَذَا وَنَهَى عَنْهَا قَالَ رَافِعٌ وَلَا بَأْسَ بِكِرَائِهَا بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَالدَّنَانِيرِ

English Translation
Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, from Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ḥanẓalah al-Zuraqī, from Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj, that the people used to rent farmland during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for what grew on the water channels, and what the stream irrigated, and something of the straw. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked renting farmland in this way and prohibited it. Rāfiʿ said: 'There is no harm in renting with dirhams and dinars.'
