Hadith #211
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ
قَالَ سَأَلْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ فَقَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ عَمَّيْهِ وَكَانَا قَدْ شَهِدَا بَدْرًا أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ

English Translation
Yaʿqūb narrated to us: Abū Uways ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbdillāh narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, he said: I asked Sālim ibn ʿAbdillāh about renting farmland. He said: ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar informed me, from Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj, that his two uncles — who had witnessed Badr — informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited renting farmland.
