English Translation
ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There is no man who dies with even a mustard seed's weight of arrogance in his heart for whom Paradise is lawful — that he should smell its fragrance or see it." A man from Quraysh called Abū Rayḥānah said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I love beauty and desire it, to the point that I even love it in the strap of my whip and in the strap of my sandal." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "That is not arrogance. Indeed, Allah عز وجل is beautiful and loves beauty. Rather, arrogance is rejecting the truth and looking down on people."
