حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعْدٍ الْأَعْمَى يُحَدِّثُ عَطَاءً قَالَ رَحَلَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ إِلَى عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ فَأَتَى مَسْلَمَةَ بْنَ مَخْلَدٍ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ قَا
لَ دُلُّونِي فَأَتَى عُقْبَةَ فَقَالَ حَدِّثْنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَبْقَ أَحَدٌ سَمِعَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَتَرَ عَلَى مُؤْمِنٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَتَى رَاحِلَتَهُ فَرَكِبَ وَرَجَعَ

English Translation
Abū Saʿd al-Aʿmā narrated to ʿAṭāʾ: Abū Ayyūb traveled to ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir and went to Maslamah ibn Makhlad, then was directed to ʿUqbah. He said: "Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — there is no one left who heard him (directly)." He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever conceals (the faults of) a believer in this world, Allah will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection." Then he went to his riding camel, mounted it, and departed.
