حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَقُودُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاحِلَتَهُ فِي السَّفَرِ فَقَالَ
يَا عُقْبَةُ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ خَيْرَ سُورَتَيْنِ قُرِئَتَا قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ صَلَّى بِهِمَا صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ قَالَ كَيْفَ تَرَى يَا عُقْبَةُ

English Translation
ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir narrated: I was leading the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey, and he said: "O ʿUqbah, shall I not teach you the two best sūrahs ever recited?" I said: "Yes." He said: "'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak' and 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.'" When he dismounted, he prayed the Fajr prayer with them. Then he said: "What do you think, O ʿUqbah?"
