English Translation
ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir narrated: We went out with ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir on a journey, and when the time for prayer came, we asked him to lead us, but he refused and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "No servant leads a people in prayer except that he takes upon himself what is upon them in their prayer. If he does well, it is for him; and if he does badly, it is against him."
