حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْإِفْرِيقِيِّ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الصُّدَائِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَذِّنْ يَا أَخَا صُد
َاءٍ قَالَ فَأَذَّنْتُ وَذَلِكَ حِينَ أَضَاءَ الْفَجْرُ قَالَ فَلَمَّا تَوَضَّأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَأَرَادَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يُقِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقِيمُ أَخُو صُدَاءٍ فَإِنَّ مَنْ أَذَّنَ فَهُوَ يُقِيمُ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād al-Ifrīqī, from Ziyād ibn Nuʿaym al-Ḥaḍramī, from Ziyād ibn al-Ḥārith al-Ṣudāʾī, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Give the adhān, O brother of Ṣudāʾ." He said: "So I gave the adhān, and that was when dawn appeared." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made wuḍūʾ and stood for prayer, Bilāl wanted to give the iqāmah. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The brother of Ṣudāʾ gives the iqāmah, for whoever gives the adhān is the one who gives the iqāmah."
