حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ خَاتَ
مٌ مِنْ الذَّهَبِ عَظِيمٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتُزَكِّي هَذَا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَا زَكَاةُ هَذَا فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمْرَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
Ibrāhīm ibn Abī al-Layth narrated to us, al-Ashjaʿī narrated to us, from Sufyān, from ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān Yaʿlā ibn Murrah al-Thaqafī, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing a large ring of gold. the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Do you pay zakāh on this?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the zakāh on this?' When the man turned away, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A great burning ember upon him.'"
