English Translation

ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Maʿmar informed us, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Ḥafṣ, from Yaʿlā ibn Murrah al-Thaqafī, who said: "Three things I saw from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: While we were traveling with him, we passed by a camel being watered. When the camel saw him, it groaned and lowered its neck. the Prophet ﷺ stopped beside it and said: 'Where is the owner of this camel?' He came. He said: 'Sell it to me.' He said: 'No, rather I will give it to you.' He said: 'No, sell it to me.' He said: 'No, I will give it to you. It belongs to a household that has no livelihood other than it.' He said: 'Since you have mentioned this about its condition — it has complained of too much work and too little feed, so treat it well.' Then we traveled and stopped at a place. the Prophet ﷺ slept, and a tree came splitting the earth until it covered him, then returned to its place. When he woke, I mentioned it to him. He said: 'It is a tree that asked its Lord عز وجل for permission to greet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and He gave it permission.' Then we traveled and passed by some water. A woman came to him with a son of hers who had jinn possession. the Prophet ﷺ took hold of his nostril and said: 'Come out! I am Muḥammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Then we traveled, and when we returned from our journey we passed by that water. The woman came to him with a slaughter-camel and milk. He ordered her to return the slaughter-camel and ordered his Companions to drink the milk. He asked her about the boy, and she said: 'By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not seen anything suspicious from him since you treated him.'"
