حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ الرَّمَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْتَهَى إِلَى مَضِيقٍ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَالسَّمَاءُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَالْبَلَّةُ مِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنْهُمْ فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَأَذَّنَ وَأَقَامَ ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ يُومِئُ إِيمَاءً يَجْعَلُ السُّجُودَ أَخْفَضَ مِنْ الرُّكُوعِ أَوْ يَجْعَلُ سُجُودَهُ أَخْفَضَ مِنْ رُكُوعِهِ
English Translation
Surayj ibn al-Nuʿmān narrated to us, ʿUmar ibn Maymūn ibn al-Rammāḥ narrated to us, from Abū Sahl Kathīr ibn Ziyād al-Baṣrī, from ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān ibn Yaʿlā ibn Murrah, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to a narrow passage while he and his Companions were on his mount, with the sky above them and mud beneath them. The time for prayer came, so he commanded the muezzin and he gave the adhān and iqāmah. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went forward on his mount and led them in prayer, gesturing by bowing and prostrating, making the prostration lower than the bowing.
