حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ
الْعَدَوِيِّ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُتْبَةَ بْنَ غَزْوَانَ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي سَابِعَ سَبْعَةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا وَرَقُ الْخِبَّةِ حَتَّى قَرِحَتْ أَشْدَاقُنَا

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us, Qurrah ibn Khālid narrated to us, from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl al-ʿAdawī, from Khālid ibn ʿUmayr — a man from among them — who said: I heard ʿUtbah ibn Ghazwān say: "I saw myself as the seventh of seven with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We had no food except the leaves of trees, until the corners of our mouths became ulcerated."
