English Translation

Yazīd ibn ʿAbd Rabbihi narrated to us saying: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Muhājir, from al-Walīd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jurashī, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr who said: I heard al-Nawwās ibn Samʿān al-Kilābī say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The Quran will be brought on the Day of Resurrection along with its people who used to act upon it, preceded by Sūrat al-Baqarah and Āl ʿImrān.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ struck three parables for them which I have not forgotten since: 'As if they are two clouds — or two canopies — or two dark masses with light between them, as if they are two flocks of birds in ranks, arguing on behalf of their companion.'
