English Translation
Ḥaywah ibn Shurayḥ narrated to us, Baqiyyah narrated to us saying: Baḥīr ibn Saʿd narrated to me, from Khālid ibn Maʿdān, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from al-Nawwās ibn Samʿān who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah عز وجل struck a parable: a straight path, on the sides of the path are two walls with open doors, and over the doors are curtains. A caller calls at the head of the path, and a caller calls from above it: {And Allah calls to the Abode of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path} [Yūnus 10:25]. The doors on the sides of the path are the limits of Allah — no one falls into the limits of Allah until the veil of Allah is removed. And the one who calls from above it is the admonisher of Allah عز وجل.'
