Hadith #585

English Translation

ʿAffān narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Khumayr, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to my father and stayed with him — or he said: my father said to him, 'Stay with me.' He brought him food, a ḥaysah, and sawīq, and he ate. He would eat dates and throw the pits — describing with his index and middle fingers, flicking from his mouth with their backs. Then he was brought a drink and drank, then passed it to the one on his right. Then he stood and took hold of the bridle of his mount and said, 'Supplicate to Allah عز وجل for us.' He said, 'O Allah, bless them in what You have provided them, and forgive them, and have mercy on them.'
