English Translation

Bahz narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, Yazīd ibn Khumayr informed me saying: I heard ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed with my father — or he said: my father said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, 'Stay with me.' So he stayed with him and he brought him food — or ḥays. He ate, then he was brought a drink and drank, then passed it to the one on his right. When he ate, he would place the date pit on his index and middle fingers — Shuʿbah described it — then throw it. My father said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, supplicate for us.' He said, 'O Allah, bless them in what You have provided them, and forgive them, and have mercy on them.'
