Hadith #72
Arabic Text
قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا كَلِمَاتٍ نَدْعُو بِهِنَّ فِي صَلَاتِنَا أَوْ قَالَ فِي دُبُرِ صَلَاتِنَا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ عَزِيمَةَ الرُّشْدِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا سَلِيمًا وَلِسَانًا صَادِقًا وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تَعْلَمُ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَعْلَمُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا تَعْلَمُ
English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to teach us words to supplicate with in our prayer — or he said: at the end of our prayer — 'O Allāh, I ask You for steadfastness in [my] affairs, and I ask You for resolve upon guidance, and I ask You for gratitude for Your blessings and excellence in worshipping You, and I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, and I ask You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know.'
