حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ ب
ْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنِ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَأْوِي إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَيَقْرَأُ سُورَةً مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكًا يَحْفَظُهُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيهِ حَتَّى يَهُبَّ مَتَى هَبَّ

English Translation
Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, Abū Masʿūd al-Jurayrī narrated to us, from Abū al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Shikhkhīr, from al-Ḥanẓalī, from Shaddād ibn Aws رضي الله عنه, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "No man goes to his bed and recites a surah from the Book of Allāh عز وجل except that Allāh عز وجل sends an angel to him to protect him from everything that harms him until he wakes whenever he wakes."
