ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us, Muʿāwiyah — meaning Ibn Ṣāliḥ — narrated to us, from Saʿīd ibn Suwayd al-Kalbī, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Hilāl al-Sulamī, from al-ʿIrbāḍ ibn Sāriyah رضي الله عنه, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "I am indeed, in Allāh's record, the Seal of the Prophet ﷺs while Ādam عليه السلام was still in his clay. I will tell you its beginning: the supplication of my father Ibrāhīm, and the glad tidings of ʿĪsā about me, and the vision my mother saw — and likewise the mothers of the Prophet ﷺs see visions." Abū al-ʿAlāʾ — who is al-Ḥasan ibn Sawwār — narrated to us saying: Layth narrated to us, from Muʿāwiyah, from Saʿīd ibn Suwayd, from ʿAbd al-Aʿlā ibn Hilāl al-Sulamī, from al-ʿIrbāḍ ibn Sāriyah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: "I am the servant of Allāh and the Seal of the Prophet ﷺs" — and he mentioned the same, adding: "The mother of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saw when she gave birth to him a light that illuminated the palaces of Shām."
