حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ أَبُو خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ الْعِرْبَاضِ عَنْ أَبِيهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْخُذُ الْوَبَرَةَ مِنْ قُصَّةٍ مِنْ فَيْءِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَيَقُولُ مَا لِي مِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا مِثْلَ مَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ إِلَّا الْخُمُسَ وَهُوَ مَرْدُو
دٌ فِيكُمْ فَأَدُّوا الْخَيْطَ وَالْمَخِيطَ فَمَا فَوْقَهُمَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُولَ فَإِنَّهُ عَارٌ وَشَنَارٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَرَوَى سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنْ وَهْبٍ هَذَا قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ هِلَالٍ هُوَ الصَّوَابُ

English Translation
Abū ʿĀṣim narrated to us, Wahb Abū Khālid narrated to us saying: Umm Ḥabībah bint al-ʿIrbāḍ narrated to me, from her father, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to pick up a strand of fur from a portion of the fayʾ [war gains] of Allāh عز وجل and say: "I have no more right to this than any of you, except for the fifth, and that too is returned to you. So return even the thread and the needle, and what is above them. Beware of ghulūl [taking from war spoils before distribution], for it is a disgrace and a shame upon its perpetrator on the Day of Resurrection." Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: Sufyān narrated this from Abū Sinān, from Wahb. ʿAbdullāh said: ʿAbd al-Aʿlā ibn Hilāl is the correct [name].
