English Translation
ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ narrated: Two disputants came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to ʿAmr: 'Judge between them, O ʿAmr.' ʿAmr said: 'You are more worthy of that than me, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Even so.' ʿAmr said: 'If I judge between them, what is my reward?' He said: 'If you judge between them and rule correctly, you receive ten good deeds. If you strive and err, you receive one good deed.' In another narration from ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir from the Prophet ﷺ, with similar wording except he said: 'ten rewards' and 'one reward.'
