English Translation
Abū Ṣāliḥ narrated: ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ sought permission to visit Fāṭimah. She gave him permission. He asked: 'Is ʿAlī here?' They said: 'No.' He left. Then he sought permission again and asked: 'Is ʿAlī here?' They said: 'Yes.' So he entered. ʿAlī said to him: 'What prevented you from entering when you did not find me here?' He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from entering upon women whose husbands are absent (al-mughībāt).'
