حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَي
ْسٍ عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ أَخِي بَنِي فِهْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا كَمِثْلِ مَا يَجْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِصْبَعَهُ هَذِهِ فِي الْيَمِّ فَلْيَنْظُرْ بِمَا يَرْجِعُ وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us, he said: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid narrated to us, from Qays, from al-Mustawrid, brother of Banū Fihr, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'The worldly life compared to the Hereafter is nothing but like one of you dipping his finger — and he pointed with his index finger — into the sea, so let him see what it brings back.'
