Abū al-Mughīrah narrated to us, ʿAyyāsh ibn ʿAyyāsh — meaning Ismāʿīl — narrated to us, Yaḥyā — meaning Ibn Abī ʿAmr al-Shaybānī — narrated to me, from ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Daylamī, from his father Fayrūz, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, we are people with vineyards and grape plantations, and the prohibition of wine has been revealed. What should we do with them?' He said: 'Make them into raisins.' I said: 'And what do we do with the raisins?' He said: 'Soak them in the morning and drink them in the evening, and soak them in the evening and drink them in the morning.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, we are whom you know, and we dwell among those whom you know. So who is our guardian?' He said: 'Allāh and His Messenger.' I said: 'That is sufficient for me, O Messenger of Allāh.'
