English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Saʿīd narrated to us — and Yazīd ibn Hārūn informed us, Saʿīd informed us — from Qatādah, from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghanm, from ʿAmr ibn Khārijah, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ addressed us at Minā while he was on his riding camel, and it was chewing its cud and its saliva was dripping between my shoulders. He said: 'Indeed Allāh عز وجل has divided for every person his share of the inheritance, so no bequest is permitted for an heir. The child belongs to the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone. Whoever claims descent from other than his father or affiliates himself with other than his masters out of disdain for them, upon him is the curse of Allāh, the angels, and all of mankind.' Ibn Jaʿfar said — and Saʿīd said, Maṭar said: 'Neither repentance nor ransom will be accepted from him.' Yazīd said in his hadith: 'Neither ransom nor repentance will be accepted from him — or repentance nor ransom.' My father said: Yazīd said in his hadith that ʿAmr ibn Khārijah narrated to them that the Prophet ﷺ addressed them on his riding camel.
