حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وحَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ أَنَّ وَرَّادًا مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ كَتَبَ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ كَتَبَ ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابَ لَهُ وَرَّادٌ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى ال
لَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُسَلِّمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ قَالَ وَرَّادٌ ثُمَّ وَفَدْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَأْمُرُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ الْقَوْلِ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُوهُ

English Translation
Yazīd narrated to us, Ismāʿīl narrated to us, from Qays, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who wrote a letter to Muʿāwiyah — and Warrād, his scribe, dictated it — that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying when he gave the salām at the end of prayer: 'Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamd. Allāhumma lā māniʿa limā aʿṭayt, wa lā muʿṭiya limā manaʿt, wa lā yanfaʿu dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd.' Warrād said: Then I later visited Muʿāwiyah and heard him on the minbar commanding the people with these words and teaching them.
