حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُ صَحِبَ قَوْمًا مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُمْ غَفْلَةً فَقَتَلَهُمْ وَأَخَذَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فَجَاءَ بِهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَبَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْبَلَهَا
English Translation
Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, Hishām ibn ʿUrwah narrated to us, from his father, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه: He had accompanied a group of polytheists, and finding them off-guard, he killed them and took their property. He brought it to the Prophet ﷺ, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ refused to accept it.
