حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً
فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا

English Translation
Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, ʿĀṣim narrated to us, from Bakr ibn ʿAbdullāh, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who said: I proposed to a woman, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'Have you looked at her?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'Then look at her, for it is more likely to create affection between you.'
