حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ بَيَانِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

English Translation

Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf al-Azraq narrated to us, from Sharīk, from Bayān ibn Bishr, from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who said: We used to pray Ẓuhr with the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ during the midday heat. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: 'Delay the prayer until it cools down, for the intensity of the heat is from the breath of Jahannam.'
