English Translation
Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from Muslim, from Masrūq, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who said: I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. He said to me: 'O Mughīrah, take the water vessel.' He said: So I took it. He said: Then I went with him, and he went until he disappeared from my sight to relieve himself. Then he came, wearing a narrow-sleeved Syrian cloak. He went to pull his hands out of it, but it was too tight, so he pulled his hands out from underneath the cloak. I poured water for him and he performed wuḍūʾ — the wuḍūʾ for prayer — then he wiped over his leather socks. Then he prayed.
