English Translation
Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī narrated to us, from Ibn Sawqah, from Warrād, the freed slave of al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah, who said: Muʿāwiyah wrote to al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah: 'Write to me something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with no one between you and him.' He said: So he dictated to me and I wrote: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah has forbidden three things and prohibited three things. The three things Allah has prohibited: gossip, persistent begging, and wasting wealth.'
