‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَنِي ‏ ‏شَرِيكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ‏ ‏أَبَا السَّائِبِ ‏ ‏مَوْلَى ‏ ‏هِشَامِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَزَلَ مَنْزِلًا ‏ ‏فَتَبَرَّزَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَتَبِعْتُهُ ‏ ‏بِإِدَاوَةٍ ‏ ‏فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى ‏ ‏الْخُفَّيْنِ ‏

English Translation

Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd al-Hāshimī narrated to us, Ismāʿīl — meaning Ibn Jaʿfar — narrated to us, Sharīk — meaning Ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Namir — informed me that he heard Abū al-Sāʾib, the freed slave of Hishām ibn Zuhrah, say: I heard al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah say: the Prophet ﷺ went out on a journey and stopped at a place. the Prophet ﷺ went to relieve himself. I followed him with a water vessel. I poured water for him, and he performed wuḍūʾ and wiped over the leather socks.
