وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَنْهَى عَنْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ وَعَنْ كَثْرَةِ السُّؤَالِ وَإِضَاعَةِ الْمَالِ وَعَنْ وَأْدِ الْبَنَاتِ وَعُقُوقِ الْأُمَّهَاتِ وَمَنْعٍ وَهَاتِ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ أَنْبَأَنَا الْجُرَ
يْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ عَنْ وَرَّادٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ الْمُغِيرَةِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ وَأْدَ الْبَنَاتِ
Isnad Chain
وسمعته ينهى
قيل وقال
كثرة السؤال وإضاعة المال
وأد البنات وعقوق الأمهات ومنع وهات
English Translation
And I heard him forbid gossip, excessive questioning, wasting wealth, burying daughters alive, disobedience to mothers, and withholding while demanding. — ʿAlī informed us, al-Jurayrī, from ʿAbdah, from Warrād, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah, from the Prophet ﷺ: He would say when he gave the salām: 'Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamd, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr. Allāhumma lā māniʿa limā aʿṭayt, wa lā muʿṭiya limā manaʿt' — like the ḥadīth of al-Mughīrah, except that he did not mention burying daughters alive.
