English Translation

Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from Zakariyyā, from ʿĀmir who said: ʿUrwah ibn al-Mughīrah narrated to me, from his father who said: I was with the Prophet ﷺ one night during a march. He said to me: 'Do you have water?' I said: 'Yes.' He dismounted from his riding camel, then went away from me until he disappeared in the darkness of the night. He said: He was wearing a cloak. He went to pull his hands out but could not, so he pulled his hands out from underneath the cloak. He washed his hands, wiped over his head. Then I went to remove his leather socks. He said: 'Leave them, for I put them on in a state of purity.' And he wiped over them.
