حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ جُرَيٍّ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي
سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ عَقَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَدِهِ أَوْ فِي يَدِي فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ تَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالطُّهُورُ نِصْفُ الْإِيمَانِ وَالصَّوْمُ نِصْفُ الصَّبْرِ

English Translation
Muʿādh ibn Muʿādh narrated to us, Shuʿbah informed us, Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī informed us, from Jurayy al-Nahdī, from a man of Banū Sulaym, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ counted on his hand — or on my hand — and said: 'SubḥānAllāh is half the Scale, al-ḥamdu lillāh fills the Scale, Allāhu Akbar fills what is between the heaven and the earth, purification is half of faith, and fasting is half of patience.'
