English Translation
Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, Abū Isḥāq narrated to us, from Nājiyah al-ʿAnazī, who said: ʿAmmār and ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd debated about tayammum. ʿAbdullāh said: 'Even if I stayed a month without finding water, I would not pray [with tayammum].' ʿAmmār said to him: 'Don't you remember when you and I were among the camels and I became junub? I rolled in the dust like an animal. When I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him what I had done, he said: Tayammum would have sufficed you.'
