حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ

قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ بِمِصْرَ يَقُولُ مَا أَبْعَدَ هَدْيَكُمْ مِنْ هَدْيِ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَّا هُوَ فَكَانَ أَزْهَدَ النَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَأَرْغَبُ النَّاسِ فِيهَا

English Translation
ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ was giving a sermon to the people in Egypt and said: 'How far your way of life is from the way of your Prophet ﷺ! As for him, he was the most ascetic of people regarding the worldly life. As for you, you are the most desirous of people in it.'
