English Translation
Abū ʿĀmir al-Ashʿarī narrated: A man was killed from among them at Awṭās. the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'O Abū ʿĀmir, did you not change it?' Then he recited this verse: {O you who believe, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided} [5:105]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and said: 'What do you think this means? It means: "O you who believe, those who have gone astray among the disbelievers will not harm you when you have been guided."'
