English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq who said: I heard al-Barāʾ say: A man recited Sūrat al-Kahf, and in the house was an animal that became startled. He looked and there was a mist — or a cloud — that had covered him. He mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'Continue reciting, O so-and-so, for that was the tranquility that descended with the Quran — or descended for the Quran.'
