حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَن

ْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ مَا كُلُّ مَا نُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَكِنْ حَدَّثَنَا أَصْحَابُنَا وَكَانَتْ تَشْغَلُنَا رَعِيَّةُ الْإِبِلِ

English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, who said: I heard al-Barāʾ say: Not all of what we narrate to you did we hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ directly. Some of it we heard, and some our companions narrated to us, while we were occupied with tending the camels.
