English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Barāʾ, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of the Trench carrying dirt until his stomach was covered, and he was reciting the verse of ʿAbdullāh ibn Rawāḥah: "O Allah, were it not for You, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send tranquility upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy. Indeed the transgressors have attacked us, and when they intend tribulation, we refuse."
