English Translation

Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us: Abū Isḥāq narrated to us, from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with his Companions. He said: We entered the state of iḥrām for Ḥajj. When we arrived in Makkah, he said: "Convert your Ḥajj into ʿUmrah." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have already entered iḥrām for Ḥajj, so how can we make it ʿUmrah?" He said: "See what I command you and do it." They repeated their objection, and he became angry. Then he went to ʿĀʾishah, and she could see the anger in his face. She said: "Who angered you? May Allah be angry with him." He said: "Why should I not be angry when I give a command and it is not followed?"
