حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنِ الْبَ
رَاءِ قَالَ لَقِيتُ خَالِي وَمَعَهُ الرَّايَةُ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ قَالَ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ أَوْ أَقْتُلَهُ وَآخُذَ مَالَهُ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us: Ḥasan ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, from al-Suddī, from ʿAdī ibn Thābit, from al-Barāʾ, who said: I met my maternal uncle carrying a banner. I said: "Where are you headed?" He said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has sent me to a man who married his father's wife after him, to strike his neck — or to kill him — and take his property."
