Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ مَرَّ بِنَا نَاسٌ مُنْطَلِقُونَ فَقُلْنَا أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ فَقَالُوا بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَنْ نَقْتُلَهُ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from al-Rukayn ibn al-Rabīʿ, who said: I heard ʿAdī ibn Thābit narrating from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, who said: Some people passed by us heading somewhere. We said: "Where are you going?" They said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us to a man who had relations with his father's wife, to kill him."
