حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَن أَبِيهِ وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَن أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَن مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ قَالَ أَبِي وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ
قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَن أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ سُوَيْدٍ عَن الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ وَرَدِّ السَّلَامِ وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي وَنَصْرِ الْمَظْلُومِ وَإِبْرَارِ الْمُقْسِمِ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالتَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَلُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ وَالْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمَيَاثِرِ الْحُمْرِ وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ آنِيَةَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated from Sufyān, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Barāʾ, who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us with seven and forbade us from seven: he commanded us to follow funeral processions, visit the sick, accept invitations, support the oppressed, fulfill oaths, return the salām, and say yarḥamuka Allāh to one who sneezes. And he forbade us from silver vessels, gold rings, silk (ḥarīr), brocade (istabraq), al-qassī, and heavy silk (dībāj).'
